![]() It was a wonderful week! It would be nice if the showers were free but that was set up when it was a state park. ![]() There are a few playgrounds in the park as well. We watched multiple people come in and enjoy the repelling areas. They have a swimming pool and concessions that operate in the summer. :-) There is a cool glamping tent that can be reserved. It is nonetheless a nice sized campground. This is our first trip here since childhood so of course it is smaller than we remembered. ![]() The park is very clean and the staff is friendly. We especially liked the hike to Lucy's Lookout on the new Scissortail trail. Quite a few RV's but they were in another area of the park. We were the only tent campers for the entire week with the nights being rather chilly. We really enjoyed an early Valentine getaway at Red Rock Canyon. I highly recommend coming here if you are am outdoorsy type and are looking for a fantastic place to come hike, camp, repel, or just relax! but they were for sure not the worst camp ground bathrooms i have seen by far. i don't blame them though i wouldn't want to clean camp ground bathrooms either (sorry to throw you under the bus ladies). when i used the restrooms after they left they looked just about the same haha. a group of ladies pulled up at one point and looked like they were cleaning the bathrooms, but they were in there for less than five minutes and walked out. My only main complaint was the bathrooms. and ranged from nice & easy beginner trails, to challenging but rewarding trails. the walking trails were very well taken care of. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing as well. as far as scenery goes in Oklahoma this is one of the most beautiful and interesting places you will find here. being a privately run park i personally feel the prices were reasonable to stay and enjoy the park. This was an absolutely beautiful and fun place to camp at. We look forward to staying here again during the spring/summer months to get the full experience. Booking the suite will provide ample bathroom/shower space! If you're of plus size, you'll struggle with these. My only complaint is that the showers of the normal rooms are a little tight. The views on top of Inspiration Point are well worth the trek! The southern most trails were a great technical challenge and were very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, updated, and had one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on.Īlso, I ran the full hiking trail system here and was pleasantly surprised at the difficulty, variety, and beautiful scenery. There is a state park general store located in the campground with good cheap food. All it's missing is a restaurant right now, which I'm told there are prospects to fill that space. The lodge itself is immaculate, with communal areas in the lobby and a nice little gift shop. The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, and understanding with our rambunctious nieces and nephews. We've never received such wonderful hospitality. We've stayed at the lodge a few times this year (during the off season) while visiting family in Watonga.
